What days/times are workshops offered?  DIY Wood Workshops are held on Saturdays & Sundays. Check the calendar for specific days and times.  New workshop dates & times are added aproximately 4-6 weeks in advance.  Private events may be scheduled throughout the week and weekend.  Please contact us to discuss available dates & times.

What is the cost and how do I register? DIY Wood Sign Workshops are $65 per person.  Occasionally we offer other DIY Wood Decor Workshops of various price ranges.  Check our website for these opportunities. Registration and payment may be made online on this website.

Do I need to sign up in advance? Reservations and payment are required a minimum of 36 hours in advance of the workshop.  When you register you must provide us with your design selection and any custom information i.e. names, dates, etc. for your sign.  Because we cut a custom stencil for your sign please DOUBLE CHECK your information.  There is a $10 re-cut fee if your information is incorrect and we need to make you a new stencil.

How long is the workshop? DIY Wood Sign Workshops generally take 2.5 hours. More complex designs and more talkative participants may take up to 3 hours for a workshop.

Choosing Your Board  We use new lumber (typically pine) to cut and assemble our sign boards.  New lumber is similar in appearance and finished signs are somewhat cleaner/sleeker. We have a variety of tools you may use to created a distressed look on your wood sign.

When available, our reclaimed wood comes primarily from disassembled pallets and typically has more character than new lumber. That character may include nail holes, embedded nails, stains, paint, scratches, marks, etching, etc. Due to the uneven nature of the wood signs made from reclaimed wood typically have a less polished more rustic look.

Signs are pre-built and ready when you arrive for the workshop.  We suggest arriving a little early to select your blank sign.  Your pre-registration fee is for a blank sign made of new lumber.  A limited number of reclaimed wood sign blanks may be available when you arrive for an additional $10-$20.

On occasion we reclaim additional boards, lumber, wood salvage & upcycled treasures.  These items vary in size, require a custom stencil scaled to fit and generally require more hands on support from our staff. They are individually priced and are not included in our regular DIY Wood Workshops.  These unique items are ideal for a subsequent visit to the studio to create.

When should I arrive? Doors open 30 minutes prior to the start of the workshop, plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to check in, peruse the stain & paint selections, receive your stencil & select the sign blank you will work on.  Be sure to arrive early if you are coming with a friend and wish to be seated together.  Please plan to arrive on time.  We cannot admit late arrivals once we have begun the step by step instruction process.

What is your cancellation & refund policy? All reservations made are non-refundable.  Your payment may be applied towards a future workshop for cancellations received a minimum of 48 hours in advance of the workshop for which you are registered. Cancellations of less than 48 hours, no-shows and late arrivals (more than 15 minutes after the start of the workshop) will forfeit their registration fee and may not be applied for any future workshops.   Due to staffing, we reserve the right to cancel workshops if attendance is below 4 attendees.
